About

I am a potter, husband, father, carpenter, homesteader, and animal lover. I first studied ceramics with Barbara Diduk at Dickinson College in the 1990’s. A few years later I studied with Mary Law in Berkeley, CA. Around 2000, life took a turn and ceramics was left behind in favor of carpentry, making a living, and raising a family. Every few years, I would pull out my wheel to remind myself that I could still do it. In 2022 I started again and haven’t stopped.

I am drawn primarily to make utilitarian ware and derive great joy in using and having others use my work daily. To me there is no substitute for the feel of a handmade, well formed and balanced cup, bowl, or teapot in the hand. I hope you enjoy.
